All oilskin & waxed products are unique due to the variations in texture, fabric, finish and colour. The uniqueness and the character of this product will continue to develop overtime.

** The outer treatment may transfer onto other garments or upholstery, so it is recommended you handle all oilskin & waxed garments with care.

STORAGE AND GENERAL CARE

Store this product in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Do not store in a cupboard or bag for long periods, as this may cause mould. If your product becomes mouldy, follow the care instructions below. The combination of oil and wax coating on this product keeps you dry but can also rub off on other surfaces, so be careful when wearing and storing this product. Do not stitch through or repair the outside of the fabric unless necessary. If repairs need to be made, make sure the area is reproofed. Overtime with wear, the combination of oil and wax coating will naturally dry out. We recommend regular checks for dryness and reproofing to promote longevity of your product as required.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Remove light soiling with a soft brush or sponge, using cold water only. Remove heavy soiling by hanging outside to hose down and hand wash using cold water and a soft brush or sponge, or hand wash using the Burke & Wills Oilskin & Wool Detergent. Your product will then need to be reproofed. Allow it to dry naturally in the shade. Do not use household detergent, bleach or any other cleaning products not specified for oilskin/waxed products. Do not machine wash or put in a dryer. Do not dry clean. Do not iron. Do not expose to high temperatures. Reproof using Burke & Wills reproofing products as required.

Oilskin & Wool Detergent

Burke & Wills Oilskin & Wool Detergent is suitable for cleaning oilskin, wool and sheepskin products. It contains a conditioning agent which replaces the oil removed during the washing process and restores the lustre of the wool fibres. Available in 125ml and 250ml bottles.

Oilskin Reproofing Wax Pack
